Volunteer Safety Guidelines and Protocols at the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM)

At the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM), the safety and well-being of our volunteers are paramount. As individuals dedicated to furthering our cause, it’s vital that you are equipped with guidelines to ensure your security in both digital and physical spaces.

In the realm of online interactions, it’s of utmost importance to exercise discretion with personal details. While the online environment offers the convenience of connectivity, it also presents potential vulnerabilities. Volunteers should refrain from disclosing personal addresses, direct contact numbers, or any financial particulars. If ever there’s a need to share such information in relation to TNM activities, we advise consulting with your Department Director or team leader beforehand. It is important to remain vigilant regarding electronic communications, particularly with unfamiliar links or downloads, as these can sometimes harbor security threats. Never click links that have been sent to you from an unknown source.  Often emails will look “Official”.  Make sure to look carefully at the email address sending the link.  If it is unfamiliar, do not click the links in the body.  For added assurance, ensure all online engagements associated with the TNM occur on our endorsed platforms.

As for in-person activities, the age-old principle of the buddy system is highly recommended. Whether attending TNM events or engaging in outreach, working with a fellow volunteer not only enriches the experience but also enhances personal safety. Prior to participation in any activity, being well-informed about its nature, location, and other pertinent details is beneficial. For extended or sizable events, establishing periodic check-ins with your group or Department Director provides a structured and safe framework for participation. And, as always, prioritize personal intuition. If a situation appears questionable or unsettling, we urge you to withdraw and communicate any concerns to the TNM team.

While the TNM is deeply committed to its mission and values, the safety of its volunteers remains a cornerstone of its operations. If uncertainties arise or guidance is needed, we encourage our volunteers to reach out. Together, we aim to ensure that each individual’s contribution to the TNM is both meaningful and secure.
